That's right! Your Complete Homeschool Planner - Choose It!allows you to choose from a wide range of planner templates which you would like to see bound in your own planner.
Let me help you plan and Choose It! here:
Choose the dates for your planner. You may choose a planner from January 2009 to December 2009; Alternatively, it may suit your needs better to have a planner from August 2009 to July 2010. If these dates don't suit you - add the beginning and finishing dates of your planner.
Choose either Landscape or Portrait format for your planner. Please note that some pages cannot be done in portrait format and will present better in landscape format, (especially the weekly assignment charts), so although you may choose portrait, there may be a few pages which will be printed in landscape.
Next choose any of the Household Planning pages you would like. If you would like to see some sample pages - open the Complete Homeschool Planner - DIY! Sample here. The Household Planning pages will form the front part of your planner. These pages help you to keep on track in your house and include pages on daily routines, meal planning, grocery lists and so on.
The next section is for all your Homeschooling Needs month by month. Each month will be separated by a monthly calendar page.
Firstly, enter the number of children that this planner will be used for.
Choose a Timetable format (see right). This can either be in a large box format or in 30 minute increments. The timetable will accommodate the number of children in the family.
Next are the Appointments/ Activities Pages. These pages are where you would add your appointments, daily To Do List, phonecalls you need to make, an soo on. This is a double page and there are three options to choose from:
Lined Appointments page
Doodle Appointments page (with open spaces)
Doodle Appointments page with
a small monthly calendar at the bottom left corner.
If you have one or two children, you may choose to have a Daily Assignment Chart instead. The Daily Assignment Charts allow you to have Monday to Friday on the top row and the Subject headings down the left hand side.
However, if you are homeschooling more than two children, you would need to make selections from the Weekly Assignment Charts. The weekly assignment chart is over a double page, so when you open up your planner, you will be able to view all your children's scheduled work. You can either choose:
A weekly assignment chart in a table format:
Subject headings on the left hand side, names of children across the top row. You would add in weekly assignments for each child into this table. This option allows you to have a double page in a table format. This may be the best option for those who have a large number of subject headings and want more room to write in specific assignments, especially if you have a number of children.
In the photo you can see a planner designed for six children with weekly assignments written into a table.
Unit Study Planning Page + Table Format: One page can be used as a Planning page - for Unit Studies, while the second page can be used to write in the children's weekly assignments - in a table format . The Unit Study Planning page will have untitled boxes for you to enter in details - for reading assignments, writing, mapwork, vocabulary, maths and whatever else you would like.
This option will appeal to the person who likes to use Doodle pages to plan their week - it's like brainstorming all your ideas directly into your planner. Then you can use your planning notes and add the assignments directly into each child's table on the second page. However, using this option means that you do not have as much room to write in their assignments for each subject area (only one page).
Charlotte Mason Planning Page + Table Format: One page can be used as a Charlotte Mason Planning page; the second page can be used to write in the children's weekly assignments - in the table format. This option will appeal to the person who likes to use Doodle pages to plan their week and who likes to work in a Charlotte Mason style using headings such as Copywork, Literature, Bible, Shakespeare, Composer, Artist, Poetry and Plutarch. It's like brainstorming all your ideas directly into your planner. Then you can use your planning notes and add the assignments directly into each child's table on the second page. However, using this option means that you do not have as much room to write in their assignments for each subject area (only one page).
Blank Planning Page + Table Format: One page can be used as a planning page - in your own brainstorming format - just one blank page - no boxes; the second page can be used to write in the children's weekly assignments - in the table format.
Next you can choose other pages that you would like in this part of your planner. This includes Monthly Journal pages, Calendar pages and Yearly calendar of the current years.
Lastly, you can choose one of the Homeschool Planner Covers at the top of this page: Cross in the sand, Happy Home, or the Woman on the Hillside (with Proverbs 16:1-3) or if you like, once your planner is ordered and I send you a confirmation email, you can send me your photo to be used as a front cover.
The planner will have a sturdy clear cover on both the back and front, and it will be sent in a cushioned envelope.
