October Winner of Teaching Descriptive Writing!

All the visitors to design-your-homeschool.com have and will really benefit from the list and your descriptions. I loved reading about these books - some which I know and love too and others which I haven't heard of, but now you have whet my appetite for another great read aloud. I'm sure my visitors feel the same way!

This month, I am pleased to announce that Kerry from Rotorua, New Zealand won Modeling the Classics - Teaching Descriptive Writing!

It was a hard choice, but I think anyone who reads, "Lord of the Rings" to their family deserves a prize! Well done Kerry!

Homeschool Freebie for November

This month design-your-homeschool visitors are looking forward to hearing about great artwork for their children to do.

How do you enter?
Show the children's artwork by adding a photo; Explain the technique involved in creating the masterpiece; Let us know of any curriculum or materials you enjoy using and which are inspirational for you as a family.

Then get your friends and family to vote for your entry. This month the winner will receive The Annotated Mona Lisa. I have loved using this book as a reference - a quick guide to periods in Art History. (Please note that the prize is new, but not the latest version of this book and so will not match the picture as shown.)
