Home schooling Requirements

We have just begun contemplating home-schooling
for 2008.

What is the legal requirements from the government if we decide "design your own" rather than being attached to some official body like a school? Is there any accountability requirements, registration requirements etc?

As far as legal requirements from the government is concerned, you can follow the links from the Home Educators Association.

Here they discuss the necessary requirements for each state in Australia.


Within those guidelines, it is easy to "design-your-own" and make it suit your family, your beliefs and your goals. I encourage you to plan your children's education with your family's Big Picture in mind, and if you are thorough in that, you will find that you will adequately fulfill their requirements.
