Your Complete Homeschool Planner

- DIY!

My story may not be as bad as others, but it's what I have to deal with on a day to day basis.

I have 3 children, Cory 10, Natalie 9 and Elle 3. We all, my husband, myself and the kids live in Baltimore, MD in a two bedroom apartment. The space is pretty small but liveable.

I am planning to decrease my secular work week so I can home school my children. Cory has ADHD and I feel that a home school environment would be better for him. Natalie aspires to become a writer/poet and I believe their current school is not equip to help grow her skills.

I know in this day and age where so many people are losing their jobs, why am I planning to shorten my work week, you may ask? I feel that the education of my children matters and comes before any job. Children are taking in all this badness in the world and I want to be the one to train them and keep them safe.

I just rearranged my home to make room for setting up the home school area. I really need some ideas and tips to organize our space to be better suited for the children.

I hope the person reading this will vote for my entry. I really do need the help to get organized!!

Thank you.

Don't worry be happy

Hooray, you will never regret spending time with your kids while they still want to spend time with you. The repayments will be worth more than any job could ever pay. As for your space, I have 'cubby holes' 3x3x3 attached to the wall above our computer to organise all our homeschool materials. We picked this up from the local hardware store. We have a shed that I also use to store craft materials but you may not have this and might like to dedicate a closet or even a set of drawers. We use the kitchen table rather than a special place because this is the 'hub' of our house and I can do several other things and help the children if things get crazy. Just set aside a few hours in the morning to begin with because traditional school is full of fluff and see how you go from there. Above all, enjoy!

Good on you for lessening your secular work to have more time with your kids.
Yep, having an organized place to work in certainly helps making the homeschool life easier.
All the best.
