Stages of the lunar eclipse

On Tuesday, the 27th of August, 2007, we witnessed a total lunar eclipse. When we were looking at the moon, we saw the earth's shadow as the earth got in front of the sun's rays. The moon changed in shape and when the earth was directly in the path of the sun, the moon became red.

The last lunar eclipse in Australia was in July, 2000.

The next one will be in December, 2011.

We have just been informed that we might be able to see a comet in this neck of the woods. Alaska.
