Alternative Homeschool Educators

Alternative Homeschool Educators (ALT HS) is an all inclusive group in South Florida, serving mainly Broward County with some members in Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties.

Our goal is to provide information, resources and support to home educators and their families ; to co-ordinate educational and social opportunities in a co-operative, nurturing and multi-generational environment for adults, teens and children; and to promote an open and inclusive community for home educators to interact, in an atmosphere of respect and dignity.

Participation is open to anyone of any belief system, creed, race, gender, age, national origin, educational philosophy, homeschooling style or family type. We are not based on political or religious beliefs.

The group offers an online forum, that includes discussion on all styles of teaching (life learning, unschooling, school at home, eclectic, etc...), useful links, homeschool support from experienced parents, park days, field trips, educational co-ops and more. We have children of all ages, from preschool to teens and tweens.

We enjoy getting together all over Broward County with some activities in Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties. *Note: the majority of our members and meetings are in Broward county.
