Life of Fred Mathematics

What a great maths curriculum!

We have recently switched to Life of Fred and it has made such a difference to my dd's learning and retention. She has recently worked through LOF Fractions and has almost finished LOF Decimals and Percentages. All of these topics she was having trouble retaining...they didn't seem to make sense. Well LOF has taken care of that.

Because all of the mathematics in LOF is related to a 'real' life scenario everything has 'stuck' much better. Instead of doing problem after problem like before, now because it makes sense as to why, the how seems to sort itself out and minimal problems need to be done for mastery.

My ds(14) (at school) recently came home after a trigonometry lesson and asked for LOF Trigonometry because 'this way it will make sense!"

Life of Fred is great!

Hi!
Thanks for putting in this review. I am currently looking at changing maths curriculums for our eldest, and had pretty much settled on Saxon until I have started seeing and hearing lots of people talk about Life of Fred.

Could I ask which maths resources you have used in the past, and how they compare to Life of Fred?
