Over and Over Again?

The Brother Offended Checklist from Doorposts

The Brother Offended Checklist from Doorposts

I don't know if this counts as a memory aid but here (with three aged 6,5 and almost 4) I tend to just go over and over things. For example we have learned a few poems this way, like:

"A man on a length of elastic
Decided to do something drastic
When he jumped off the cliff he
Came back in a jiffy
And screamed to his friends
It's fantastic."

We have also learned quite a few verses from the Bible and the Brother Offended Checklist in this way. Next I will be working on the 10 Commandments.

I usually write whatever we are learning in big print on the wall with pictures and then simply go over it daily, sometimes more often.

Over and Over the Only Way!
by: Valerie

Anyone I know, whether adult or child, who is trying to memorise or commit some knowledge to memory.....repeats the information Over and Over Again! There are always a few "tricks" to help the memory along a bit, but repetition is the key.

Music, maths, English, sport... Bible verse practice?!?
by: Cate

Don't know how others do it but I know practice sure seems to make... um, more perfect... Doesn't the Bible say something like - practice righteousness? Well, if the Bible says to practice, its good enough for me. And visual cues on the wall, good idea!

Worth Doing? Do it well!
by: Amanda

Well done and full encouragement to you Pauline and family as you commit to memory those things. If you are going to take the time and effort to memorise something it may well be of worth to the heart and the home - be it in humor, instruction in righteousness or Godly ways. Blessings to you.
