Singapore Math

We have used Singapore Math in our home for 6 of the eight years since beginning to school at home. We highly recommend this math program not only b/c of the mental math it brings to the table but we feel it's leaps and bounds above their counterparts in material. I appreciate the smaller text and workbooks during the semesters and it gives our children a sense of accomplishment to move from "book A" in December to " book B" after the holidays.

Manipulatives do not come with the Singapore Maths Curriculum, however, the text list every manipulative you need and should have. I also liked that each text has a detailed lesson plan laid out for you/the parent (if you want to follow it)! Our 4 children have tested well above the national norm, and that is to include our special needs child (whom I take a text and use very very slowly with). Now that says a lot about a math program!
