The Joy of a Home-schooling Family

Where to begin? I love home-schooling!

Not only do I gain an even more personal relationship with my children, but I also get to give them the knowledge I want them to know, instead of relying on a school system. My kids (4, 8, and 13 years old) just love it. No waking up early having to take them to school, no worrying about them making to back home safely either!

I usually school my kids from 9:30 am to about 1pm. In these hours my kids learn so much more than I ever did when I went to public school. As a result they do great in tests! I can also assist through every step of a science project!

Throughout the day when I teach using textbooks I buy online, not only are they learning, but I am as well! I love how I can be right there for them when they need help on their homework too, it's just what a kid needs in order to receive a well instructed education.

Along with schooling, I also arrange field trips to take my kids to as well. Whether it's the zoo, the newspaper factory, a grocery store, and more, they just love it and learn so much.

Along with this we are also surrounded by the fellowship of other home-schooling families as well. Every Friday I take my kids to a park where many other home-schooling families go to as well. They have many friends and I can enjoy the company of moms just like me. We go to amusement parks all throughout the year since I can schedule my own breaks instead of having to go with the school, we also go for walks every night, go shopping, rock climbing, ice-skating, roller-skating, and many other activities all throughout the years.

I hope I can continue to home-school my kids until they graduate from high school. Overall, I just love it!
